If you’re a sports fan, you know what this time of year is all about—watching copious amounts of basketball and doing as little as possible when it comes to your daily routine. We hope your brackets make it to the second weekend (mostly) unscathed and you fill this part of your calendar with good games, good friends and good places to enjoy great basketball…with a buzzer beater or bracket buster or two along the way.
Here are just a few of some of our favorite places to watch some March and April hoops:

Big Red Restaurant & Sports Bar

Featuring five-award winning locations, each have more TVs than you could ever dream up and a menu deeper than your favorite team’s roster. Whether it’s the fan favorite Chicken Fried Steak Dinner, Big Red Wrap or the classic Big Red Challenge burger, you’re fixin’ to watch hoops like a top-seed at Big Red.

Brewsky’s Food & Spirits

A Lincoln staple for nearly 35 years, Brewsky’s offers three Lincoln locations complete with great deals throughout the duration of the basketball tournaments and ample TVs to enjoy all the action on. Their beer menu features local favorites and international picks as well, with their wings and nachos a big hit when it comes to food. Their Haymarket location also features Blazin’ Pianos for weekend performances, which pits dueling piano players from all over the country.

Denton Daily Double

Located just 10 minutes west of Lincoln in Denton, Nebraska, USA, the Denton Daily Double is legendary for its food and especially the prime rib and the “Triple D” sirloin. The Daily Double is also a great place to play keno and enjoy “Fiesta Sundays”, including $2.50 margaritas. The atmosphere is sure to impress as the 5-12 upsets begin to go down and the first 1-seed bites the dust!

Hawk’s Nest Sports Bar & Grill

Offering 21 TVs and two giant projector screens, this is the place to cheer on your team in style. With up to 20 different beers on tap and a variety of specialty and traditional pizza options, you’re never out of options at the Hawk’s Nest. One of Lincoln’s newer sports bars, you’ll definitely know what’s happening in the tournaments in the middle of a vibrant and entertaining atmosphere.

The NZone

A Husker sports tradition since 1995, The NZone sits in Lincoln’s Historic Haymarket and remains one of our favorite spots for hot wings, cold beers and good times. Known as a go-to-spot to visit before Husker men’s and women’s home games, The NZone also serves up burgers and other pub eats with a ton of TVs. Try the jiffy burger with peanut butter and bacon—it’s a slam dunk. When it comes to Lincoln’s sports bars, this one is definitely a blue blood!

Tanner’s

Burgers, wings, nachos and chicken lips, served up with a side of Tanner tots and more, Tanner’s will have you coming back long after the buzzer sounds. This favorite that started in Lenexa, Kansas has made its way to Lincoln and brought great food and a great atmosphere to their Yankee Hill location. Be sure to sample a delicious “Booga” and cheer on your team to victory!

The Press Box

One of Lincoln’s top spots for watching sports, you’d better believe with a name like The Press Box, a great atmosphere awaits. You won’t be on a deadline here as their wings, nachos and prime rib Philly hit the trifecta when it comes to sports bar fare. Featuring indoor and outdoor seating, The Press Box always has a game or two on with a family-friendly atmosphere just perfect for March or any other time of the year.

Sportscasters Bar & Grill

You had us at “buckets of beer”.  As your friendly and comfortable neighborhood sports bar in northeast Lincoln, Sportscasters Bar & Grill is a sublime game-day hangout with great food, drinks, games and TVs to tune in to all the basketball (and other sports). Consistently ranked as one of Lincoln’s top sports bars, Sportscasters is anything but a Cinderella with their Sportscaster Burger, NHL wings…and did we mention buckets of beer? It’s always Game Time at Sportscasters.

Rosie’s Sports Bar and Grill

A robust happy hour with lunch specials including their chicken fried steak and beef brisket sandwiches are some of the best in town. Have a big group to entertain? Their party rooms definitely deliver in the clutch as well, meaning your get together will always advance to the next round.
