Lincoln, Neb. – The Sandhills Global Youth Complex (“the Complex”) has announced the hiring of Tom Lemke as their Director of Operations & HR. In this role, Lemke will play an integral role in the day-to-day operations of the Complex, oversee all human resource programs including recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training and development, represent the Complex at talent acquisition events and coordinate programming with community partners. Lemke stepped into this new role in early September 2024.

Lemke was a student-athlete on the Nebraska baseball team for three seasons and graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration. He earned his master’s degree in counseling and student development from Kansas State University in 2018 while serving as a graduate assistant coach for two seasons with the Kansas State baseball team.

“I am beyond thrilled to join the team at the Sandhills Global Youth Complex,” says Lemke. “I can’t wait to be a part of something that is going to have a tremendous impact on youth baseball, softball and the city of Lincoln for years to come. We are all looking forward to opening the gates in the spring!” Lemke concludes.

After his time as a graduate assistant, Lemke also spent one year as the Associate Head Coach for Manhattan Christian College baseball and most recently served on the Life Skills team for Nebraska Athletics, assisting student-athletes with personal and career development to prepare them for life after sports.

“Tom is an outstanding addition to the Sandhills Global Youth Complex team,” said Joe Fagler, Executive Director of the Sandhills Global Youth Complex. “His knowledge, work ethic and people skills will be a great foundation for leading our operations and human resources teams. We’re so excited to have Tom on board.”
