NxtPro Tournaments Coming to Lincoln’s Speedway Sports Complex and Kinetic Sports Complex May 12-14

Lincoln, Neb. — Visit Lincoln is excited to welcome the NxtPRO16 Session 7 basketball event to Lincoln’s Speedway Sports Complex and Kinetic Sports Complex this weekend, with play happening May 12-14.

The three-day event will see some of the best men’s basketball prospects in the country at the NCAA Division I, II and III levels plus NAIA and JUCO compete.

“The NxtPro series being held in Lincoln is another event that our community is incredibly excited to host,” says Derek Bombeck, director of sports for Visit Lincoln.

“Lincoln is a die-hard sports town and this weekend’s tournament gives hundreds of players and their families plus event organizers, scouts and coaches an opportunity to enjoy Lincoln and see how basketball is celebrated here through top notch facilities and community support,” Bombeck adds.

The 2023 schedule for NxtPro began in late March and continues through the summer, concluding in late July at various sites across the country with nine tournaments in total. This weekend’s tournament will determine who makes the finals, held in Lincoln July 28-30.

"We are very excited to have NxtPro in Lincoln for both the May and July events,” says Matt Cumro, Owner and Founder of Lincoln’s SUPREME Basketball.

“NxtPro has quickly established themselves as a leader and innovator in the grassroots basketball space and the level of talent playing in the NxtPro circuit is very impressive. The event at the end of July will truly feature teams from around the nation and is a wonderful opportunity to showcase all that Lincoln has to offer. In addition to providing a boost to the Lincoln economy, this will provide the student-athletes in our program with an opportunity to show the people in and around the city of Lincoln how they stack up on a national scale,” Cumro adds.

Teams featured are from the states of New York, California, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado, Indiana, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Georgia, Kentucky, Illinois, Iowa, South Dakota, North Dakota, Missouri, Minnesota, Wisconsin and West Virginia and also from Canada.
