National SpeedSkating Circuit Hosts NSC 36 in Lincoln, NE
Lincoln, NE – June 10, 2024 – The National SpeedSkating Circuit (NSC) is thrilled to announce that NSC 36 will be hosted at Speedway Sports Complex in Lincoln, Nebraska on July 7th. This marks the fifth time the NSC has brought its electrifying event to Lincoln, and the excitement is building for what promises to be an unforgettable evening of inline speed skating.
Inline speed skating is renowned as one of the most exhilarating sports globally, with athletes racing around a 100-meter oval track at breathtaking speeds. If you haven't witnessed this high-octane sport before, NSC 36 is a must-see event. The atmosphere at Speedway Sports Complex is electric, with seating so close to the track that spectators can literally feel the wind as skaters zoom by.
This year's roster boasts over 30 of the world's top male and female speed skaters, including record-holders Gabe Lyons and Jessica Brooks. Lyons and Brooks hold the fastest indoor speed skating 100-meter times for men and women, respectively. The competition is divided into two categories: sprinters and endurance skaters. Sprinters will compete in the 300-meter and 500-meter races, while endurance skaters will battle it out in the 1000-meter and 1600-meter races for men, and 1000-meter and 1300-meter races for women. The top three overall sprinters and endurance skaters will advance to the Grand Champion Main Event, an 800-meter middle-distance race. The winners of this race will be awarded the coveted “Black Suit” and Crowned the Grand Champion.
Miguel Jose, NSC President, expressed his enthusiasm for the event: "We're incredibly excited to return to Lincoln for NSC 36. The support from the local community has always been fantastic, and Speedway Sports Complex is the perfect venue for showcasing the incredible talent of our athletes.
