[Lincoln, NE] – Year 15 of Garmin Gravel Worlds 2024, one of the most anticipated cycling events of the year, is set to take place on August 22-24, 2024 at the Sandhills Global Event Center. As thousands of cyclists from around the globe converge on our local communities, we are calling on residents to join in the excitement and ensure a successful and safe event for all.
Join the Festivities at the Start/Finish Line
In addition to the thrilling race action, we invite everyone to join us at the start/finish line located at the Sandhills Global Event Center. The area will be buzzing with energy, featuring live music, food trucks, local vendors, full rider and runner expo, live panels with pro athletes, and family-friendly activities. It’s a perfect opportunity to cheer on the cyclists and runners, enjoy a fun day out, and celebrate our community’s role in hosting this prestigious event. Increased Cycling Traffic: Be Alert and Supportive
As participants ride through the scenic gravel roads of our region, we urge all community members to be mindful of the increased cycling traffic both intown and out of Lincoln city limits. Please exercise extra caution while driving, especially in rural areas and along the designated race routes. Your vigilance will help ensure the safety of both cyclists and motorists alike.
Call for Volunteers: Be a Part of the Action
Garmin Gravel Worlds thrives thanks to the incredible support of volunteers. We are currently seeking enthusiastic individuals to assist with various tasks, including registration, aid stations, course marshaling, and more. This is a unique opportunity to get involved in a world-class event, meet new people, and contribute to the vibrant spirit of our community. No prior experience is necessary, and all volunteers will receive training and a special event t-shirt. Garmin Gravel Worlds will also be making a $5,000 donation to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital on behalf of all our volunteers.
