Lincoln, Neb. – Assemble Lincoln, the standing committee of Lancaster County tasked with the development of the Downtown Lincoln Convention Center, is pleased to announce the receipt of proposals from qualified landowners for the site selection of the new facility. This significant step forwards the initiative to enhance Lincoln's ability to host major conventions and events.
The Request for Proposals (RFP) was issued on January 12, 2024, and sought submissions from landowners within Downtown Lincoln or its immediate vicinity, capable of accommodating the ambitious scope of the planned convention center. By the deadline on February 29, 2024, Assemble Lincoln received noteworthy proposals from the following organizations:

• Garfield Public/Private
• REV Development
• Oak Lake Development
• WRK Real Estate

"We are thrilled by the response to the RFP and the potential each proposal presents for the future of downtown Lincoln," said Sen. Eliot Bostar, Chairman of Assemble Lincoln. "These proposals, alongside public sites previously identified by Assemble Lincoln, will be considered in our comprehensive site selection process. The selection of the right site is crucial as it will anchor further economic and cultural development in the heart of our city."

The proposals and public sites are currently undergoing a thorough evaluation process. Assemble Lincoln is committed to a fair and transparent selection process, and the community will continue to be actively engaged and informed as the committee moves closer to selecting the optimal site for the convention center.
