Lincoln parks offer a great diversity of terrain. Two excellent parks for cross country skiing are Wilderness Park, with 15 miles of tree-lined trails, and Pioneers Park, with large stands of wooded areas and challenging slopes. Park areas are open 7 a.m. to sunset. Because of the danger to turf, no skiing or sledding is allowed on city golf courses.

Conestoga SRA
1 1/2 miles north of Denton
Facilities: 230 surface acres, 486 land acres. Boat ramp; fish-cleaning station.

Fish in Wilderness Park where Saltillo Road crosses Salt Creek up to West Van Dorn; where Salt Creek crosses West A Street; and just east of North 14th Street where Oak Creek and Salt Creek join.
Stagecoach SRA

Facilities: 195 surface acres, 412 land acres. 5 mph wakeless boating; boat ramp. Handicap fishing pier.

Pioneers Park is a beautiful winter park with a ramp for sledding. Open 7 a.m. to sundown in winter. However, when the snow cover is adequate for good sledding, the ramp area is lighted and open for use until 11 p.m.

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln has 30 outdoor courts open to the public - 24 on City campus, six on East Campus and most are lighted.

The University of Nebraska Cornhuskers have eight home games in 2008 at Memorial Stadium. Named to honor World War I veterans, the stadium holds more than 81,000 and on home-game days becomes the state's third-largest "city." the home of the Huskers has been sold out since 1962.

Haymarket Park baseball stadium and softball complex, seats 4,500+ people. Grassy berm seating provides for approximately 4,000 more. In addition, there are 16 luxury suites; some are available for rent on a game-by-game basis.
The unique stadium, located at Line Drive and Sun Valley Blvd., is just a few minutes from Downtown Lincoln and may be reached via West "O" Street.
The Lincoln Saltdogs pro baseball team will by vying for a playoff spot in the newly created American Association of Independent Professional Baseball, North Division. The players have a 95 day season and games are scheduled for at least 90 of those days, with 48 of those games at home.
