Experience the sights and sounds of an 850-acre native tallgrass prairie preserve. Twenty minutes southwest of Lincoln, Spring Creek Prairie Audubon Center offers prairie, wetland and woodland habitats; miles of walking trails; a straw-bale constructed visitor center, and trail ruts from the Nebraska City-Fort Kearny Cutoff of the Oregon Trail. New interactive exhibits will engage the whole family!
Stagecoach State Recreation Area is a 195-acre lake surrounded by 607 acres of land. Stagecoach offers fishing, boating, picnicking and camping.
Fishing: Anglers here will find bluegill, common carp, crappie, largemouth bass, walleye and wiper, among other species. There is a 21-inch minimum length limit on black bass. For wiper, there is a daily bag limit of three with no more than one fish 16 inches or greater. This lake offers a wheelchair-accessible fishing pier.
Boating: All boats are welcome at Stagecoach State Recreation Area, though a 5 mph speed limit is enforced. There is one boat ramp and one dock.
Hunting: A 412-acre area is open to hunting in season. Stagecoach offers good opportunity for pheasant, quail and dove, among other species.
RV and Tent Camping: Stagecoach offers 22 camping pads with 20-, 30- and 50-amp electrical hookups, as well as 50 non-pad sites without electricity. Water and vault toilets are available to campers.

Star City Shores is an outdoor, seasonal, public swimming pool facility opening Memorial Day weekend.
Zero-depth entry, accessible facility, two big slides, water play feature, family changing rooms and a concession stand. In 2016 Star City Shores will feature the unveiling of the two new slides and play feature.

The Museum is the home to the largest collection of Cold War aircraft. Come and see air and space exhibitions, let the kids have fun in the Science Zone or come to one of the many special events throughout the year, such as the Science Fair, Helicopter Day, Indoor Air Show, Summer Camps or Museum Overnights. Sunken Gardens is a beautiful terraced garden featuring thousands of annuals, reflecting ponds, waterfall, paved pathways with donated engraved concrete pavers that memorialize special people and events, restrooms, and an ornate gazebo. The gardens are ADA accessible.
Outdoor public swimming pools are generally open from 1-8 p.m. Monday-Friday; 1-6 p.m. Saturday-Sunday through the summer, weather permitting. Pool season is May 25- August 11. Taylor Park is a neighborhood park of 20 acres, bisected by a stream running from south to north. The land for the park was donated to the city on August 30th, 1963 by Eldin E. Taylor and his wife Bertha, with the adjoining residential areas developed in the 1960s & 70s. The park is located between the Taylor Meadows, Taylor Greens, Eastridge and Taylor Park neighborhoods, and adjacent to Eastridge Elementary School.
