LUX Center for the Arts presents Photographic Investigations, a solo exhibition by Merrill Peterson. This exhibition will have an opening reception First Friday, March 6, 2020 from 5-8 p.m. Regarding his upcoming exhibition, Merrill explains, “I’m interested in visual perception. How we see and how confirmation bias contributes to the way we see and perceive the world informs the photographs I make. As I investigate my world I’m fascinated by artifice and irony and the enigmatic way photographs convey meaning and pose questions. I’m attempting to make images that reflect how I see – my personal point of view. My intent is to be visually alert. It’s a constant process of being intentionally attentive – to be always looking and to be always investigating. Photographic Investigations will showcase multiple series – Photo Collage Series, Enigma Series, Door Series, and Color as Subject Series – each presenting Peterson’s nuanced perspective of the world around us. Photographic Investigations by Merrill Peterson runs in the LUX West Gallery through March 27th. More information at
