Surveying Sheldon’s collection of works on paper from the late eighteenth to the late twentieth centuries, this exhibition presents selected instances when printmaking and photography are in dialogue with one another. Focusing on moments when the two practices intersect in terms of function, aesthetics, and technique, Convergence on Paper highlights the affinity they have for one another and the rewarding results of experiments and innovations by artists including James McNeill Whistler, Andy Warhol, and Robert Rauschenberg.
