Arts and Humanities is one of Lincoln Public School’s five focus programs. Inspired by their October 2017 visit to the International Quilt Study Center & Museum—and especially by “The Haunting of Quilt House,” a Halloween pop-up exhibit—students from Arts and Humanities went on to create a “quilt” made from individual paper collages. The project was so successful that A&H teachers and IQSCM staff facilitated several additional workshops in which students created paper and fabric quilt blocks on the themes of “Valentines Day/Love” and “Spring.” This exhibition will coincide with the start of the 2018-2019 school year, and is expected to inaugurate a tradition of visits and quilt-inspired artwork by Arts and Humanities students.
