Shane Claiborne activist | author | peacemaker "The Scandal of Grace" "With new eyes can we look at people we don't even like and see the One we Love? Let's imagine a revolution that is gentle and magnetic, a revolution big enough to set both the oppressed and oppressors free." With hard stories from the streets of Philly and the war zone of Iraq, Shane will invite us to reflect on the scandal of God's inclusive love...in a world that is starved for grace. Join us on Thursday, November 16, at 7:00pm in the sanctuary, as best-selling author and activist, Shane Claiborne will present "The Scandal of Grace." Shane Claiborne is a prominent speaker, activist, and best-selling author. Shane worked with Mother Teresa in Calcutta, and founded The Simple Way in Philadelphia. Shane is a champion for grace which has led him to jail advocating for the homeless, and to places like Iraq and Afghanistan to stand against war. And now grace fuels his passion to end the death penalty. Claiborne is the author of the several books including The Irresistible Revolution andExecuting Grace. His work has appeared in Esquire, SPIN, Christianity Today, and The Wall Street Journal, and he has been on everything from Fox News and Al Jazeera to CNN and NPR.
