Lincoln – The Lincoln Convention and Visitors Bureau along with Pershing Center have teamed up to offer a free shuttle service to tournament spectators for the State Girls Basketball Championship, February 28 – March 1 and State Boys Basketball Championship, March 7- 9.
"We wish the best of luck to all of our participating teams, coaches, cheerleaders, fans and officials in making this the best possible tournament experience for all involved. Each year our community provides unparalleled opportunities for attendees and we are fortunate to have a great group of volunteers and tournament venue hosts who make each year memorable for those visiting our community. Our commitment to this event is one that we take great pride in and we enjoy hearing visitors tell us how excited they are to be in Lincoln for the state tournaments," stated Jeff Maul, Executive Director of the Lincoln Convention and Visitors Bureau.
The free shuttle will operate every 10 minutes running between the Haymarket Garage located at 848 Q Street, and Pershing Center, located at 226 Centennial Mall South, from 8:00 am to 11:30 pm. The Haymarket Garage, Que Place Garage (1111Q Street) and Market Place Garage (10th & P Streets) will offer all day parking for $3.00 as an additional value to the free shuttle service. Exact cash is appreciated. Please note that although all three parking garages are offering the discounted parking rates, the only shuttle pick-up point will be on the east side of the Haymarket Garage.
“Lincoln is ready to welcome coaches, players and fans from across the state to the 2013 Nebraska State Basketball Championships,” said Lincoln Mayor Chris Beutler. “There has never been a more exciting time to be in the Capital City. With the future Pinnacle Bank Arena rising in the West Haymarket, I encourage visitors to take the time to see all the big changes downtown. You’ll find your favorite shops and restaurants as well as terrific new options. Congratulations on making it to the Championships and good luck as you pursue a state title!”
